6th Most Bible-Minded City: Springfield
With two Christ-centered universities and four megachurches, Springfield, Missouri, lands among the nation's most Bible-minded cities. A quarter of the city's 164,000 people are "unchurched," yet there's no shortage of Christian higher education. Springfield is home to Baptist Bible College, as well as Evangel University's composite that includes Central Bible College and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Missouri ranks as "above-average conservative" -- perhaps a result of 77 percent of the population identifying as Christian and more than a third of those choosing evangelicalism.
