In 1986, I had a dramatic spiritual encounter that changed the entire course of my life. It wasn’t just a fleeting moment — it was a divine visitation. The Lord gave me a prophetic insight concerning the United States of America, and that revelation rocked me to my core and shaped the rest of my life.

Over the next 21 years, God took me on a journey I never could have imagined. I traveled to over 35 nations, ministered in crusades, joined medical mission trips, and in 1993, I founded Richard Pearson Ministries. But everything I’ve done since 1986 has been rooted in that one life-altering moment with God.

It was then that He commissioned me to be a watchman — to warn, to teach and to prepare people for what’s coming. Much of what God showed me concerning America has already come to pass, confirmed by Scripture and analyzed by countless biblical scholars. The prophetic signs foretold in the Bible are unfolding before our eyes — now it’s up to us to respond accordingly.

The mandate comes straight from Ezekiel: “If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.”

I take that responsibility seriously. We don’t choose our assignment — As watchmen choose us. I choose to obey. What I have seen as a watchman is as unsettling as it is alarming. As history repeats itself, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel and John’s prophecies are still being resisted today. My book, “America’s Josiah Moment,” isn’t just another work of literature. I believe it is God’s heart’s cry as a clarion call to awaken His people to seek Christ and live in righteousness.

In the face of spiritual apathy, cultural compromise and political confusion, many are asking: Does America even have a place in God’s prophetic timeline? Some claim she’s nowhere to be found in Scripture. But what if the truth is quite the opposite? What if America is Babylon the Great described in the book of Revelation? What if America’s current leadership is zealous, disruptive, and used by God to shake a nation? What if the warnings the prophet Jeremiah gave to ancient Israel are echoing now, speaking directly to us?

And what if, like in the days of King Josiah, America is in a divine window of reprieve?

A Josiah moment is a pause in judgment — a temporary stay from what is surely coming. But make no mistake: judgment is not coming; it’s already begun. Not because God is cruel, but because He is just. America has sacrificed more than 63 million children to the sin of abortion since 1973. American society revels in sinful debauchery and actively seeks to undermine the biblical foundation on which this nation was built. Yet our God is merciful, not willing that any more should perish. What the Lord has spoken towards America in scripture will be fulfilled, but it does not mean He delights in what is coming (Ezekiel 33:11).

There are 53 biblical demarkations  — not opinions — that America is Babylon the Great, all of which is unpacked in “America’s Josiah Moment.” In the book, I compare current events with ancient patterns, uncovering truths hidden in plain sight, and revealing what lies ahead for this great nation.

There is an opportunity for America as a nation of believers to turn the tide before it’s too late. There’s still time — but not much. Hebrews 12:1 says, “Now is the hour to return to the Lord, to seek His face, and to turn from any ‘sin which clings so closely.’” It’s His goodness that leads us to repentance. It’s His love and mercy that offer us this reprieve. But the window will not stay open forever.

For those who are watching, listening and obeying — there is a way of escape. The Bible clearly details the steps to attain grace and find favor in Christ. For those who will not hear, judgment will not delay for long. Scripture is also clear about what will happen to those who choose to ignore God’s warning signs. In the end, God always wins. The only question is: which side will you be on?
