Death does not have the final word. As Catholics, we must allow that truth to take root in our hearts in order for Christ to truly transform and conform us into his own image and likeness. My friend demonstrated this faith — and hope — in adoration, his genuine treatment of others, daily acts of love, and childlike trust in God.
We, too, can live our faith simply: letting go of pride; persevering in struggles; sacrificing for others with our time and attention. Those traits can truly make all the difference in our own lives, and in the lives of others — even those we hardly know or don’t know at all.
