Like Pharaoh, Putin’s Heart ‘Was Hardened’

It’s impossible to know the depth of this shift in presidential disposition, Mr. Trump having for many years seemed eager, in his rhetoric at least, to interpret Vladimir Putin’s intentions in a favorable light. But that makes Monday’s statement all the more remarkable—the president has never voiced so hostile an attitude to Mr. Putin.
