Cardinals are gathering Wednesday in the Sistine Chapel to begin the process of electing the 267th pope. The papal conclave begins 16 days after the death of Pope Francis and will include 133 cardinals of the Catholic Church from around the world.
The cardinal electors will vote for whom they believe should be the next leader of a church consisting of about 1.4 billion worshipers.
Voting will continue until a candidate wins a two-thirds majority.
