Rejoice With Trembling

How will we dance again?

The question hangs heavy in the air, like a cloud we can’t quite reach, through the dust and fragments of everything that was shattered on October 7th. How can we move when the ground beneath us feels so unstable, when the rhythm that once carried us through life has been stolen from us, leaving only silence?

But here we are, standing in this space—on Simchat Torah of all days—the day when we are meant to dance with the Torah in our arms, meant to sing with a joy that seems so far away now. How do we dance when the world feels like it’s split wide open and we are still standing in the cracks?
