Mohamad Jebara is among the world’s least conspicuous traditional religious scholars. A Lebanese-Canadian, Mr. Jebara served as a congregational imam for more than 20 years. He is now a full-time author and Arabic calligrapher, in addition to being an avid cyclist and in-line skater who’s ditched clerical garb for skinny jeans.
“The Life of the Qur’an,” his latest book, is blurbed by the grand mufti of Aleppo and includes a 33-step lineage connecting Mr. Jebara to the prophet Muhammad.
