Religious Freedom is Unraveling in Sudan

Between 2019 and 2021, Sudan was heralded as the prime example of progress in religious freedom in a country that had been known to have one of the worst records on the matter. Today, that progress has crumbled, and the prospects for religious freedom are, if anything, possibly grimmer than the prospects for peace. ...It is estimated that over 10,000 have been killed and roughly 6.6 million have fled their homes and are now displaced within the country’s borders or in neighboring countries. All accounts indicate that those who chose to remain are losing hope.
