Our Hopes and Prayers for the Holy Land

As we think about what comes next in the light of our faith we have two prayers. The first is that — after Hamas has been removed from power, and an assessment of why Israel's intelligence agencies did not keep the country safe — they will turn to a different approach. As many in Israel have said: "Israel will never be secure unless they give the Palestinians hope." Our second prayer is more than a prayer. It is a hope — based on past, historical fact. Our hope is that the Palestinians will give the first intifada, 1987-1993, which was nonviolent, another try.
