The Origins of Sefardi Jewry

In its adjectival form, Sefaradi often serves as a broad counterpoint to Ashkenazi, together, taken to describe the major branches and cultural spheres of world Jewry. In their more restricted meanings, these terms describe Jews from the two regions we today call Spain and Germany, respectively, as well as their descendants.
