In two decisions this month, the Supreme Court expanded the role of religion in American education. The first came in Carson v. Makin, allowing parents in Maine to use vouchers to send their children to religious schools. The second was Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, in which a high school football coach was fired after repeatedly holding prayer sessions with his team on the field.
