When my little boy was four years old, he had a hard time going to school. He was in a Pre-K program and struggled tremendously with the anxiety of being away from his mama—breaking down in tears at the very idea of going to school the next day. I asked a therapist for help. I wasn't sure what to expect, but at least some kind of serious therapeutic intervention. The counselor gave me a book. A children's book. Like, with pictures.
