In the past, new members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have always been asked to be patient with some adaptation to the culture of the Church -- starting with new nomenclature. There was that familiar conundrum of being invited to the "stake center" for a social activity and expecting to be served a gourmet meal, or to a "ward" activity and wondering if that would include a visit to a hospital. (A "ward" is another name for a congregation; a "stake center" is a large, central church bChruilding housing more than one congregation.)
