Writing About Religion With Style

The email came as I was boarding a plane. A freelancer wanted to know why I'd introduced what he felt was an error into a recent piece. After taking a closer look at the story, I was relieved to discover that the issue wasn't an issue at all; the change was based on our newsroom style guide, which is closely tied to The Associated Press Stylebook. "I know it's weird, but that's our style," I wrote back. "Hey, at least you've got style," he said.
