On Sunday (Jan. 2), Twitter permanently suspended Marjorie Taylor Greene's personal account for violating its "five-strikes-and-you're-out" policy against spreading misinformation about COVID-19. The final strike was a Saturday tweet asserting "extremely high amounts of Covid vaccine deaths." The tweet was accompanied by a misleading chart that used unverified raw data obtained from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, a Food and Drug Administration program that registers self-reported cases from patients and health care providers. Thus far there have been no verified cases of a COVID-19 vaccine causing death.
