Giving Thanks is Important, Spiritually and Patriotically

The U.S. Congress proposed an American day of thanks to the new and first president, George Washington, in September of 1789. And with Washington's proclamation, the first Thanksgiving Day was held on Thursday, November 26 of that same year. Congress and the president had far more in mind than a turkey dinner, watching football and dashing out for savings on big-screen TVs.
