Religious Exemptions: Separating the Devout from the Defiant

In response to the Biden administration's mandate that federal employees take at least one dose of the COVID vaccine or be fired or put on unpaid leave by today, tens of thousands of federal workers have applied for a religious exemption from doing so. New York City and other large public employers are facing the same challenge: How to evaluate thousands of workers' requests that they be exempt from taking the vaccine because it would violate their religious beliefs to be vaccinated.
