Next week, thousands around the world will gather in person or online to mark the first anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Dr. Lord Jonathan Sacks (1948-2020). His yahrzeit falls on 20 Heshvan, October 25-26. The erudite and eloquent Rabbi Sacks was a walking sanctification of God's name, in both the Jewish and non-Jewish worlds -- among kings, philosophers, theologians, politicians, congregants, and students alike. No one else in recent decades made Judaism more relevant on the world stage.
