During this past year, there has been a lot of discussion of allyship and what it means to be an ally to marginalized groups like LGBT+ members of the Church. But there has not been nearly as much discussion of discipleship and what it means to be a disciple of the Savior Jesus Christ. Some will argue that these are synonymous. Allyship and discipleship have some obvious similarities. Both involve reaching out, including, and helping those at the margins. But despite the similarities, there are key differences as well -- at least at present, with the current norms of modern allyship.
