Britain has had its share of politicians and statesmen who have been "vocal about their faith," from the earnest, evangelical William Wilberforce (with his noble, indefatigable, and ultimately successful fight against slavery and the slave trade) to the tough-minded Methodist Margaret Thatcher, to the rather progressive Catholic convert Tony Blair.
