The offending segment on “TheReidOut” addressed President Trump’s role in promoting the clashes unfolding across various U.S. cities amid protests over police violence against African Americans. To address the issues at hand, Reid talked with New York Times Seattle bureau chief Mike Baker, Newsweek editor-at-large Naveed Jamali and Washington Post opinion writer Jennifer Rubin. As many commentators have pointed out, Trump’s rhetoric — cheering on his supporters as they confront Black Lives Matter protesters — has exacerbated an already tense climate in protest hot spots.
