China Comes for Religious Freedom in Hong Kong

etary of State Mike Pompeo announced on June 26 that the U.S. will impose visa restrictions on Chinese officials "responsible for eviscerating Hong Kong's freedoms." This is a good step for the people of Hong Kong desperately looking for a lifeline as they watch their freedoms get trampled by the Chinese government. Last year's pro-democracy protests, which captured global attention, initially targeted a proposed extradition law that would have allowed Hong Kong residents to be extradited to mainland China and subjected to its corrupt judicial system.
