Within 24 hours, the Chinese Basketball Association, sportswear brand Li-Ning, the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, state broadcaster CCTV, and tech-giant Tencent all suspended business with the Rockets. What followed is reminiscent of a Stalinist show trial. The National Basketball Association released a statement calling Morsey's views "regrettable." LeBron James mollified his Chinese sponsors by criticizing Morley as "misinformed."
