How to Discuss Religion Without Arguing

During the High Holy Days—which this year stretch from Rosh Hashana on Sept. 21 to Yom Kippur on Sept. 30—Jews seek forgiveness and renewal for a new year. I reflect on where in my life I'm falling short and what steps I can take to do better. I will study this spiritual inventory next fall to see how I did. It's a humbling but necessary attempt to return home to my best self, where I believe God wants me to be.
