Analysis: Congregations Can't Make Up for Proposed Budget Cuts

A non-profit has calculated that every religious congregation in the U.S. — Christian or otherwise — would have to raise an additional $714,000 every year for the next 10 years to make up for the 2018 budget cuts President Trump has proposed.

“There is no way our country's 350,000 religious congregations can make up for the cuts in the services that help hungry, poor, and other vulnerable people,” Rev. David Beckmann, president of Bread for the World, said in a written statement.
