The Political Crisis of American Evangelicals

Despite growing hostilities in the Democratic Party after Hillary Clinton's surprising loss to Donald Trump, perhaps the greater hostility is one that is forming within a niche of the Republican Party: evangelicals.
Trump's white evangelical supportâ??—â??80% to Hillary's 19%â??—â??was nearly total.

By contrast, Trump received only 29% of the Asian vote, 29% of the Hispanic/Latino vote, and 8% of the Black vote. What is it that white evangelicals saw that these other groups did not see?
