Catholic Leaders in Congo Welcome Church-Mediated Accord

The bishops' conference in Congo helped mediate a government-opposition accord. "Being a Catholic country has given us an advantage over other African states when it comes to seeking peace," said Monsignor Leonard Santedi Kinkupu, former secretary-general of the bishops' conference.
