Should Obama Visit a Sikh Temple?

In more than seven years in office, President Obama has been one of the few presidents to speak in a mosque and in a synagogue. Before he leaves office, members of Congress are urging him to visit one more house of worship: a Sikh temple.

Twenty members of Congress sent Obama a letter asking him to visit a gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship.

The president could take his pick: The Association of Religion Data Archives found in its 2010 study of U.S. congregations that there are 246 gurdwaras in the United States.
