How ISIS Damaged Their Own Cause

Through the worldwide revulsion at recent terrorist attacks - particularly those in Saudi Arabia - we see promising signs that Muslim nations and the West are uniting against a common enemy: the very extremists who try to divide them.

Islamic State's aim is not only to spread fear through intimidation and violence, but also to create a rift between Muslims and others living in the West.

The suicide bombings in Saudi Arabia on 4 July show that Islamic extremists are slaughtering Muslim people and targeting sites that are sacred to all Muslims. Muslim leaders and their followers around the world are now uniting against these ill-informed, brutal gangsters who have misinterpreted the Qur'an and grossly misrepresented Islam.
