The Vatican has anounced the creation of a special commission to study the issue of women deacons. In a press release issued this morning, the Holy See announced that "after intense prayer and mature reflection, His Holiness has decided to set up the Commission to Study the diaconate of women."
The designated president of the commision is Luis Ladaria Ferrer, S.J., secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
