Unitarian Universalists Convene General Assembly

Unitarian Universalism, a progressive faith with roots in Christianity, has about 1,000 congregations across the United States, including four in central Ohio. The tradition draws from various faiths, and Morales said some members might participate in Buddhist meditation, for example, or identify as Jewish.

Among workshops offered at this year's assembly will be one on the Black Lives Matter movement and another on reproductive rights with Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Krista Tippett, host of the "On Being" public-radio show, will deliver a keynote lecture.
