Christianity in a Time of Secular Liberalism

Secular liberalism has become the dominant operating system for political discourse. And it is worth remembering that, from its origins in the late seventeenth century, liberalism was interested in excluding question of religious truth from the public square. It had good theological reasons for doing so, and indeed among the leading liberal thinkers is counted that good Christian, John Locke, who offered page after page of (tedious) biblical exegesis in support of his political theories.
