Is Star Wars Gnostic?

Just before Christmas, an article appeared in The Washington Post comparing the Star Wars prequel trilogy to the â??Gnostic gospels,â? such as the â??Gospel of Thomasâ? and the â??Gospel of Judasâ?: â??Like the gnostic Gospels, the prequels arenâ??t true. Or to put it another way, they arenâ??t the same story as the originals.â? While the Gnostic gospels â??have garnered headlines, theyâ??ve never been embraced by the faithful. Thatâ??s in part because theyâ??re terrible, filled with stilted dialogue and bizarre plot twists.â?
