My American heritage imbued with a respect for the religious liberties in our founding documents causes me to be appalled by presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”
My Mormon heritage causes me to feel that it hits too close to home. Trump may be a presidential candidate calling for mass deportations and religious tests to enter the country, but he is not the first national figure to do so. Presidents themselves have schemed with such ambitions towards the Latter-day Saints.
