Mormons Ready When the Lights Go Out

The LDS Church — with its bishops' storehouses and parishioner pantries replete with food, toiletries and other disaster supplies — is the high-voltage line of emergency preparedness, ready to disperse those supplies in a crisis.

That includes, hypothetically, a widespread loss of electricity. If that happens, the other 98 percent of Americans are in a lot of trouble, according to Ted Koppel.
