Meet Dodge City's First Methodists

As early as 1872, when Dodge City was in its infancy, people lamented there were no religious services in Dodge City.

One of these persons, a railroad worker and Methodist lay minister, S.A. Newell took action by gathering six children into the dining room of a hotel where he sang and talked to them.
