Evangelist Franklin Graham, son of legendary Evangelist Billy Graham, will be preaching and leading the Festival of Hope event set for Aug. 14-16 at UAB's Bartow Arena in Birmingham.
The elder Graham was a friend and adviser to many presidents including Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon. Franklin Graham, president of both the Samaritan's Purse relief agency and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, has not been shy about expressing his political opinions.
