While many of the Republican presidential candidates immediately spoke out against the Supreme Courtâ??s ruling on same-sex marriage Friday, Sen. Rand Paul waited 58 hours and had a unique message: privatize marriage.
Like his GOP rivals, Paul said he disagrees with the ruling, claiming the high court redefined the institution of marriage in its 5-4 decision deeming same-sex marriage constitutional nationwide. But Paul believes that everyone has â??the right to contract,â? he wrote in a Time op-ed.
