Methodists vs. Malaria

United Methodists, including those at one Ormond Beach church, are committed to bringing an end to death and suffering from malaria, a disease they say is “100 percent preventable.”

Shelley Keech, communications coordinator at First United Methodist Church, has a personal stake in eradicating the disease. Several members of her family, including her husband, his sister and his parents, got malaria and recovered while living in Nigeria where his parents were missionaries.
