Everybody knows that "The Book of Mormon" musical pokes fun at Mormonism. Thatâ??s the whole premise, as goody-two-shoes Elder Price and mediocre sidekick Elder Cunningham are sent to Uganda to complete a two-year mission for the Mormon church.
Initially, the humor is witty and rather innocent, with dancing Starbucks cups depicted in "Mormon hell" and gags about over-zealous door-to-door missionaries. Yet, by act two, the humor abandons all inhibitions and progresses to the epitome of offensiveness: The Book of Mormon is literally shoved up a missionaryâ??s rectum.
