Follow the star, they were told. So they travelled north, to a hill town where a bright, new star appeared in the sky. Well, to Stockport actually, to meet the woman who will make history in the New Year by becoming the first female bishop in the Church of England.
The Rev Libby Lane is a “sax-loving mother-of-two and Manchester United fan”, as one tabloid put it, presumably hoping to draw readers in before they double-checked the spelling of her number one hobby.
