Last week the United States Senate released a report describing the interrogation tactics used on prisoners after the 9/11 attacks. Waterboarding. Solitary confinement. Cramped spaces. Forced anal rehydration. Sleep deprivation. Shackles. Stress positions. These are despicable, deplorable acts of torture.
On Saturday, my wife and children and I joined thousands of people marching in the streets of our nation’s capital to express solidarity with African American families whose sons have been killed on our nation’s streets. Thousands more marched all across our country, remembering their names. Michael Brown. Tamir Rice, Akai Gurley. Amadou Diallo. Their deaths are tragedies.
