If We Lose the Traditional Jesus

With Christmas around the corner, itâ??s about time for another teardown of traditional Christian doctrine, time for a dissecting of the man known to millions as Incarnate God, Christ, and Savior of the world. Time to question Jesus. Messiah? Definitely not. Son of God? Depends on what you mean. Atonement for sin? Not so much. Resurrected from a tomb on the third day? Are you kidding? And letâ??s not even talk about the â??virginâ? birth.

Weâ??re intoxicated with applying the tools of science, archeology, linguistic analysis, and anthropology to the ancient texts. We have taken faith and bound it to a demanding and often intolerant demigod: reason.
