"The quest for the Holy Grail is one of the great adventures of all time," says Jamie Theakston as he chugs along a rural backroad at the beginning of Forbidden History: the Holy Grail, a documentary about the search for the elusive chalice, which airs tonight (November 12).
Theakston's own adventure is a little less memorable, however, taking him to Shropshire and Staffordshire via Aberystwyth. And not a single knight in shining armour to show for it. Still, the former Top of the Pops presenter does eventually wind up in Valencia, home of the Santo Cáliz chalice, and appears to be convinced that he has seen the cup from which Jesus Christ and his disciples drank at the Last Supper.
