Mississippi Methodists' Lost History

The Mississippi Methodist Conference has had nine histories of Methodism published since 1887. The information for the basic histories of Methodism in Mississippi has come from the annual Journal of the Mississippi Conference and its antecedents and from correspondence and diaries of prominent Methodist ministers. Most of these are indexed.

At the Mississippi Library Association annual conference in Vicksburg last week, an exhibit called attention to an exciting discovery: two long-lost manuscripts that were found with other papers in a family garage in 2009.
