Michael Novak's Moral Compass

When Michael Novak was writing The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism, I was fortunate to have worked as his assistant. I still remember very vividly, when Michael would emphasize the need to think clearly. He often quoted Jacques Maritain's famous dictum: "you must distinguish in order to discern."

Michael's magnum opus was published in 1982 and quickly became a bestseller, and quite distinguished.
