Is David Cameron a Christian – and, if so, how serious is he about it? The question cropped up on Wednesday, which was when Maria Miller resigned. The PM can’t have been in a sunny mood. I feel sorry for the diary secretary who had to remind him that he was hosting an Easter reception for Christians in the evening.
But never underestimate Dave’s capacity to surprise. Talking to his guests, he unexpectedly “did God” – that is, talked about his personal faith with a candour that no prime minister has displayed for decades.
