Presbyterians Sell Camp to Pay Sex Abuse Debt

A beloved Presbyterian campground will likely close after Chicago church officials voted Saturday to sell the grounds located off the shores of Lake Michigan to a private developer.

The vote comes as the Chicago Presbytery aims to pay its $7.9 million debt, calculated largely after a confidential settlement from 2007 with several men who claimed they had been sexually abused by a Presbyterian minister.
