It's often said in American politics - frequently by conservatives - that our rights come from God. Many believe that this is the underlying, fundamental truth the Founding Fathers implemented when they created our government.
According to these moral theists, anyone who disagrees that God establishes morality (e.g., atheists, secularists) is ignorant of the underpinning of both morality and of America. Without God, they say, there's no right or wrong.
