McKay Coppins must be getting desperate for political news stories. His interest in some random email in which an individual asked their family and friends to fast for Mitt Romney is evidence. One individual’s invitation to family and friends to fast for Romney is not a swelling invitation of conservative Mormons who back Mitt Romney. If I sent out an email to family and friends it would also reach people in the states “Utah, California, Nevada, and Colorado at least” (and Texas, and South Dakota, and California, and Illinois, and Idaho).

“The e-mail is” Coppins postulates, “both a reflection of Romney’s wide and intense support within the Mormon faith, and an illustration of the church’s challenge in demonstrating its partisan neutrality to the public.”
